Dr Chris Maxim is a composer, conductor and organist.

His music is performed as far afield as Australia, Canada, South Africa and the USA. It has been broadcast on BBC and American radio, recorded on several CDs and featured in music festivals. It has been performed in such prestigious venues as St Paul's Cathedral, Edinburgh's Usher Hall and the Wanamaker Store in Philadelphia, USA; and has been performed by musicians that include the Latvian Radio Choir and Roderick Williams. Chris's publishers include Banks, Fagus, The Royal School of Church Music and Stainer & Bell; but his main publisher is USA-based Paraclete Press (https://paracletesheetmusic.com/composer/maxim-christopher/). He welcomes commissions.

He is an accomplished conductor who specialises in choral direction. He currently conducts the St Teilo Singers and the choir of St Mary Magdalene, East Ham. He is available as a guest conductor and to lead choral workshops.

As an organist Chris has performed as soloist and accompanist in many cathedrals and other major churches. A particular feature of his recitals is the way he engages the audience by introducing the pieces that he plays. He is available as a recitalist and accompanist.

Chris has also published many reviews of new music, editions and CDs, plus a number of scholarly articles.
