Vanessa Myers studied classical harp privately with Susan Brown, primary harpist for the Ventana Room at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson. Included in her studies were pop and jazz performance and arranging for the harp. She plays acoustic lever harp with optional amplification, tailoring her sound for a specific gig or music genre, and is one of a few people in the United States playing jazz professionally on a lever harp. She has also backed several well-known musicians, including leading Celtic harpist Mary Bouley and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Vince Redhouse. Currently she plays solo harp in a variety of venues. In addition, Vanessa recently published a harp arrangement of the iconic guitar tune, "Classical Gas", available on her website.
