Additional Info:
Silvia Nogales is a different guitarist who fuses the guitar repertoire with new forms of expression, seeking to "reach the audience and awaken their sensitivity" through her performances. As a result, she has projects such as "Seis Doncellas de Juan Ramón Jiménez" (2014), where the inspiring axis is the work for narrator and guitar "Platero y yo" by composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, "Don Quijote: Entre la razón y el deseo," and "Altamira, Ancestral y Mágica." The proposal on the Altamira Caves has attracted festivals such as the International Guitar Festival of Gemona (Italy). She has been invited to teach and perform at prestigious institutions such as the Juan March Foundation (Madrid), the International Guitar Festival of Santiago de Chile, the University and Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires, and the Conservatory of Music of San Juan.
In chamber music, her duo with saxophonist David Hernando stands out, where they premiere repertoire by composers such as Mateo Soto and Sánchez Verdú. They perform at festivals such as the International Chamber Music Festival of Vitoria, Emilio Pujol Festival (Las Garrigas), Museum of Fine Arts (Vitoria), Ermita de San Sebastián (Sitges), and the XII Cycle of Music and Heritage City of Huete (Cuenca).
She combines her concert work with pedagogy and research, working on her thesis focused on interdisciplinary repertoire for guitar with Dr. Juan José Pastor (UCLM). She is also a member and research staff of the Music Documentation Center of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM), an associated unit of the CSIC. She is also a jury member for different International Guitar Competitions and an endorser of Raimundo guitars since 2017.
