I am a Guildhall School of Music Graduate & University of London postgraduate and a freelance orchestral player and soloist. In childhood I studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff from the age of nine. After graduating from GSMD I studied in Paris.
I freelance regularly with several UK orchestras and work as a session musician for independent TV, the BBC, for indie film companies and for computer gaming industry.
I teach flute, violin, vocal studies and piano worldwide online on a weekly basis. I specialise in teaching older children & adults & offer fast track courses offering a mix of recorded and live lessons with video and audio feedback between lessons. I have a 100% pass rate and most students pass examinations with distinction.
In the past I have taught music in several top UK schools including Simon Langton Girls School, Bedford, Harrow and Kent College and worked for OfSTED and Guildhall music examination boards. I am also Steiner trained and worked at Perry Court in Canterbury in the past.
I teach mainly classical, folk and contemporary/popular music. Most students choose ABRSM classical and Trinity Rock and Pop.
Qualifications:MA (distinction), AGSM (commendation), LRAM (performance), LTCL (teaching), Piano, Violin & Flute - Grade 8 distinction, ABRSM Theory Grade 8 Distinction, A Level Music (A), Advanced Diploma in Education (distinction). Past teachers have included Francis Howard, Jean Pierre Rampal, Trevor Wye, Peter Katin, Douglas Townshend, Edward Beckett, Phillipa Davies, Mary Rees and several others.
Fees
Fees start at £20. I teach all levels but do not usually accept children under 10. Please note that I expect students to learn online when I am away working with an orchestra and some teaching slots are online only.
