Whilst I do not have a standalone teaching qualification (there is no degree specific to private instrumental teaching), I learned from watching my mother who is a violin teacher as well as by doing. I must be doing something right since I have happily taught at five different schools across Melbourne as well as teaching a range of private students, from three-year-olds to beginner adults.

I have my grade 8 AMEB for cello and, whilst I only got up to grade 3 AMEB in piano, am practising in order to be able to accompany students more effectively, so am probably about grade 4 level now. I have played cello, piano and double bass professionally as well as composing professionally and am about to formally study a composition subject at Melbourne Uni (as of 2020) to further my craft.

Can discuss if you have financial needs as I know this can be prohibitive for some people. I am happy to do anywhere from a 20 min lesson all the way up to an hour and more.
