Lopa Hossain is a Singer, News Presenter, Media Personality, and Author who has been serving Bangladesh Media Industry since 2005.

Lopa Hossain – All-in-one musician, lyricist, composer, poet, news presenter, and director. Born on August 24, in Dhaka but raised in her own district Narayanganj.

She obtained Honors from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University and a Masters’s Degree in Music from the University of Development Alternative (UODA). Now she is doing her second Masters from the Department of Television, Film, and Photography at Dhaka University.

Lopa Hossain was listed as an artist in modern songs on Bangladesh Television in 2004. However, as an artist, she was first discovered by people from home and abroad in 2005 through Bangladesh’s first music-related reality show “Closeup One-Tomakei Chojche Bangladesh” competition. She took a place among the top ten artists there.

Her first solo album “Aari” was released in 2007 and for this album, she received the best new artist award at “CityCell Channel I Music Award 2008”. In 2013, after a long break, the second solo album “Ashar Vela” with her own words and tunes came to the market. And for this album, she was nominated as “Best Composer” at the CityCell Channel I Music Award along with the country’s best composers, which is the first for a woman in the history of Bangladesh.

A believer in doing less, this artist has sung in several films and more than 15 mixed albums. A song sung by Lopa Hossain titled “Samanno Sombol” has become widely popular and appreciated.

Although she is primarily a musician, she is more popular and known as a news presenter. Joined country’s first private Satellite TV channel ATN Bangla in 2006 and worked there for about 11 years as senior news anchor. Currently she is working as senior news presenter in Bangla TV.

She has won several awards as the best news presenter. Trained on news presentation in various institutes and workshops. Served as cultural editor of News Broadcasters Alliance of Bangladesh (NBA).

This multi-talented artist has left the signature of his talent in many places. In 2006, she started working at Radio Today FM 89.6, the first FM radio station in Bangladesh and became one of the first “RJs” in the country. Besides, she started presenting in various popular programs of Bangladesh Television. Presented in numerous TV and stage shows. Worked as a presenter and commentator at the South Asian Games held in 2010.

In 2008, she acted as one of the heroines in popular writer Anisul Haque’s serial drama “Dainik Tolpar”. Apart from writing songs and composing regularly, she also writes poems, stories and novels. Her first poetry book “Je Ondhotter Naam Valobasha (The name of blindness is love)” was published in the book fair of 2015. The first novel “Tomar Opekkhay (Waiting for you)” was published in the book fair of 2016. In 2020, her 2nd poetry book “Amar Ekta Tumi Chai” was published.

Lopa Hossain has also been roped in as a producer. So far he has produced 2 short films named “Makeup” and “Shackle” and a documentary named “A Waiter”.
