I was educated at the Melba Memorial Conservatorium of Music after which I undertook advanced study in the United States.I was employed in several of the orchestras of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation including the Melbourne Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony, and West Australian Symphony Orchestras.In addition I have been Timpanist of the Australian Opera, Australian Ballet, the Victoria State Opera,the Bolshoi Ballet while on tour in Australia and the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra. I have performed as Principal Timpanist under the following conductors:Jiri Starek, Gabor Otvos,Hubert Soudant, Karolos Trikolodis, Franz Paul Decker, Diego Masson, Albert Rosen, Vladimir Verbitsky, Jiri Maksymiuk,Louis Fremaux, Andrew Litton, David Zinman, Krzysztof Penderecki, Georg Tintner, James Loughran, Piero Gamba, Jose Serebrier, Sir Charles Mackerras, Vladimir Ponkin, Varujan Kojian,Giorgy Fischer, Werner Andreas Albert, Vladimir Kamirski, Janos Furst, David Atherton, Myer Fredman,and Michiyoshi Inoue.Specialisms
