Shohreh Shakoory
I am an Iranian pianist-composer based in Kent. I grow up and trained in Iran and moved to the UK in 1993, I received my Teacher’s Diploma (LTCL) from Trinity College, London in 1997.
I have recorded two of my compositions for Iran’s national Radio and Television station and have contributed to a CD (Voices) recorded live for The Medical Foundation Organization, UK.
My Trio compositions were featured in a performance at the Canterbury festival 2017.
My compositions combine traditional Iranian modes and Western techniques to create an evocative sound world.

Since 2017 I have been working on a large project for children composing for an orchestra towards a theatrical multimedia production based on an ancient Iranian story. https://zalandphoenix.com/
I have many years of piano teaching experience with individuals, groups, and schools, teaching all ages and abilities.
